Fancy Fine

Today I'm feeling like this.

(even though it's a thunderstorm-shitstorm-of-a-downpour
and there are tornado warnings for all of NYC/Brooklyn and probably HoBROKEn)

Cool Cats

I've been thinking about learning how to play the ukulele.

I don't think I'll ever look as cool as these cats and their mini-guitars, though.

So, I moved...

To New Jersey

I know. I'm as surprised/weirded out as you.

Believe me.

(An unexpected roommate. I've since asked them to move out.)

More stories to come....'cause I've got some good ones.

Water Adventures

Today it is raining. Not just "oh, I need an umbrella" rain, but
"HOLY CRAP WHERE IS MY PONCHO" rain.

I left my apartment (which is located on a hill) this morning to be greeted by a rushing rapid for a street. Not so fun when you can't find your wellies and your trusty Converse are already soaked.

No bueno.

Needless to say, I arrived to work soaking wet.

Is today over yet?
I think my toes are real pruney. Gross.

Armory Show

In my opinion, The Armory Show is the official start of Spring, and my favorite show.  My family goes every year with some family friends and this year was fabulous.

So much neon, so many sparkles, SO MUCH ART!

These were some of my favorite pieces, gotta love the reflection and sparkle!

My parents couldn't resist...had to buy something.

After the show, we went to Chinatown for some Dim Sum.

SO GOOD!

Already looking forward to next year!

The Worst.

I am the worst.

So much for the 'YEAR OF THE BLOG' huh?

I'm quite the busy bee lately, thus my lack of posting.... but, I'm planning on coming back in a big way, so get ready.

...or not, whatever.

Vacation cet été!

I'm so excited....

May 2013: Abby en Famille will take on Paris, Normandy, London and....ICELAND!

what-what?!

Apparently Iceland Air is running a special, fly through Iceland, get a free layover for a few days. Who would pass that up? Not us! Libby is so excited she wants to stay in Iceland the entire time. Needless to say, I'm super excited about everything...

Now to start packing everything in my head....and brushing up on my French!

Sugar Rush

One thing I love about coming home--apart from seeing my puppies, obviously--is getting to eat delicious Rhode Island food--grilled meats, seafood, fresh pasta... sigh.

My favorite guilty pleasure breakfast spot is Allie's Doughnuts.
They make the BEST classic doughnuts--light, fluffy, and with happy rainbow sprinkles.

Can you say D-E-L-I-S-H?

Libby and I needed some happy, sugar-y breakfast this morning,
so I decided to run out and grab a dozen.

Happy doughnuts, semi-happy thoughts?

Year in Review

 This is me:

I'm quite a loser.

So, 2012 blew by. Am I right? Or am I right?

Here are some photos of my year, because I know that you're really interested in that.

(and if you're not, too bad.)

I moved...and really did myself a favor while packing. FYI Labeling every box "Abby Randoms" helps no one.
I saw Bruce Springsteen. In New Jersey, because I'm hardcore.
I voted.
Hung out with friends.
Started a new hobby: infusing liquor. YUM DELISH.
I started a new position at Fishs Eddy! I'm now the Press, Registry and Social Media Assistant. (I also met Deb Perelman, SUCH a lovely woman!)
I survived Hurricane Sandy.
I baked. A LOT.
I celebrated Christmas in Park Slope with....
...Libby! Who came to visit and buy gifts for the 'rentals.
Family at Christmas

It was QUITE the year....
but I'm excited to see what 2013 will bring

Didn't See You There

So, Hi...

I've decided that 2013 is going to be:

"THE YEAR OF THE BLOG"

(When I think about it, I do say it in all caps, thank you very much.)

Let's see how far this goes, shall we?
