Magnetic. Nail polish.

No, I won't be sticking to metal things anytime soon (unless I pull a Christmas Story)but it's just as epic, if not more so than being able to stick magnetic poetry to my fingers...although that would be pretty sweet too. There are little magnetic particles in the polish that move around if you put a magnet over your nails before they dry! It creates this cool hologram-ish, stripey effect that I'm totally loving right now.



Yeah. I totally bought some. I also bought the purple...they were out of the teal, otherwise I would have bought the whole set. It's that awesome.


It's epicly amazeballs to say the least; I've been getting compliments on it all day!

I purchased mine at Sephora, but you might be able to find it somewhere else. I want them to come out with a red so badly!

Think of the damage that this ring would do! I have a pretty massive two finger ring that I like to call my "Brooklyn Ring" that I used to wear when I had to walk home from studio late at night. You know, just in case someone tried to accost, I could punch them in the face with my heavy duty BK ring and they would run away (...in reality, I'm sure I'd miss their face and they would steal my BK ring, computer, phone, bag and any loose change I had on me.)

Insomnia: Or the Ravings of a Sleep Deprived Loon

So, I've been working a lot recently. Like, all-the-time a lot. I go from one job to another, getting home around 10:00pm (if I'm lucky) or 12:00am (if I'm not so lucky). So, needless to say, I haven't been getting as much sleep as I'm used to.

I know, I know, I know. You're thinking "Abby. You just graduated. You've had plenty of sleepless nights, why are you complaining about these ones? Shouldn't you be used to it by now, yah betch?" You'd think so. But, truthfully, I got used to my summer schedule--waking up at 7/8, getting home by 6 and then hanging out. I (idiotically) thought that the sleepless nights were behind me. Oh. So. Dumb.

However, being so exhausted actually has been letting me sleep like a rock--which is nice--until this past week. When I've been waking up at 4:00am every morning. I don't know why. It's not light out, there's not a noise that wakes me up, or a ghost prodding me in my sleep. It's just my silly internal clock being all "Oh Hai! Good Morning! You wanted to sleep an extra 3-4 hours before work? WHY!? There's so much to do, including: staring at the ceiling, organizing the files on your computer, making a super awesome new playlist, generally hating the fact that you are awake, and don't forget the ever present subconscious nag--apply for jobs! Apply for jobs!"

Hopefully future employers when getting my cover letters written at 4:30 am take that as a sign of an ability to work hard and not stop until a job is complete, not the rando psycho ramblings of a 20-something who didn't (and isn't going to) get enough sleep for the past few weeks (and years).

Apologies

My apologies, kittens and dahling Interwebz, for not having been up to date on my posting. Apparently moving from one apartment to another means that the internet gods smite you by not allowing your phone line to work, therefore rendering you interweb-less. Still. For over two months. I feel like I've been returned to the early '90s when there was no internet and playing Barbies was the choice leisure activity.

Hooray for finding new ways to enjoy my time other than withering away in the glowing blue light of a computer! I've been working, then going to my second job, then applying for more jobs (which would be easier if I had the internet, cough cough), sleeping, (sometimes) eating, and then there's that thing, you know, called laundry that legit takes up half of my one day off. I guess this is what "real life" is like. Working and sleeping with snippets of fun times like showering and cleaning my room in between. No fun new hobbies to share. No crazy stories, unless you count that time that I slipped on a jalapeno pepper in Union Square on my way home from work and almost died.

No? Me neither.

IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL THIS WEEKEND--especially after the nasty week we've had-- It's spring. I'm over the snow/slush. I just want to be outside, but I have SO much work to do in Rhino this weekend. Isn't that always the case?
